How we test & review
This page explains how Cityscootlab evaluates scooters and deals, so you can understand our picks and how we update content.
1) What we evaluate (core criteria)
We focus on criteria that matter for daily commuting:
- Range (realistic use): marketing range is often optimistic; we compare claims with rider feedback and typical conditions.
- Comfort: tires, deck size, suspension, ride stability.
- Safety: braking setup, lights, traction, and overall build.
- Portability: weight, folded size, carry friendliness.
- Practicality: charging time, parts availability, warranty clarity.
2) Deals & coupons (how we handle pricing)
Prices move with promotions and region. When we mention a deal:
- we treat it as “price at publish time” and encourage checking the live price,
- we make coupon eligibility explicit (minimum cart value, exclusions),
- we avoid presenting limited-time promos as permanent pricing.
3) Data checks
We cross-check product claims using:
- manufacturer pages and manuals,
- retailer pages (prices/stock),
- independent references and community feedback when available.
See our sources page for the types of references we rely on.
4) Affiliate & sponsorship policy
Cityscootlab may earn commissions from affiliate links. We aim to keep recommendations useful first and clearly label sponsored/affiliate links.
5) Updates
Key pages are updated when we detect material changes (spec updates, new model releases, major price changes, coupon changes, or broken links).
